Days ...

Yesterday was my first-born's 4th wedding anniversary. I posted an album to my facebook site that was a scattering from the engagement to them as a family. She is a wonderful wife, and a wonderful mother. She has grown to be such a brilliant woman in every way. She is the most insightful person I know. Her advise is solid as a rock! Her insights into scripture are illuminating. She is beautiful, and funny, and strong -- delightful! She is living her 'happily ever after'
All week I have gotten posts from my oldest son who is at a neuro-science conference (and he is in Colorado snowboarding in every free minute and LOVING IT!!! ) where he -- well to put it in layman's terms -- has his REAL science project on display. I take that back...as I read it, it just sounds silly. He IS a real scientist. His research is being displayed before other scientists in what they call a 'poster': real statistics, and research results for his REAL Ph.D research project ~ it takes my breath away. He is rubbing shoulders with brilliant men and women, and they are HIS FRIENDS. He is funny, and brilliant, and caring, and strong and wise and courageous. He is in the middle of his adventure.
My second daughter, Erica, (whose name MEANS victorious) is beginning another "this will be impossible" semester. "This will be hard"...she hasn't said "this will be impossible" yet ~ good thing: nothing is impossible for her. She frets and moans, "this time I could fail" then she goes on to get A's and conquer every territory. She can sing like an angel, and draw like an artist. She is learning to be a business woman and exploring the world of business, money, and power -- and she gets it!! She is on her way!
Danny -- who struggled and struggled to conquer reading -- has just finished another series of books. I think this school year he has read 3 or 4 SERIES -- novel length series. He is learning -- really learning in all his classes in school: geometry, anatomy, latin, world history. He is so smart!! He is standing on the brink of who knows what pathway or pathways...!
There is a verse in psalms:
Ps 126:1-3
When the LORD brought back the captives to Zion,we were like men who dreamed.
Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations,"The LORD has done great things for them."
The LORD has done great things for us,and we are filled with joy.

I love watching my children stride into their dreams, take on the giants, win the battles: I feel as I watch my children grow and embrace their lives that we have been brought back from captivity -- too long a story to tell , but in their lives I see God restore the fortunes... Isa 61:4 "
...rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations. NIV
Even the difficulties, and challenges are just laurel wreaths being formed -- wreaths they will lay as crowns at the feet of the King in worship and victory. I LOVE IT!!

  1. Good post! I love the update on all the "little ones" and really understand your "return from captivity." What a blessing to know that Is.61:4 is alive and working in your and Ed's lives. Your offspring have been a long time in preparation to "rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated."
    Blessings to the Triune God!

  2. So what is your church like? big? small?
    None yet
What curriculum are you all using now?
    Chalotte Mason style
    what kind of cheese?
    Mozzorello
I am guessing -- from what you said == you have a cow ~ anything else? chickens I would guess.
23...laying hens. We also butchered our own chickens for the year this year.
Do you have a garden or like "farm" fields where you grow crops?
Garden...we grew most of our own food this year. This year, since we have acres, i am trying my hand at planting food for our animals. Cow-horse-chickens-dogs-cats. :)

Your children have faired well. Your influence has served them well. Yeah!
